About Us

WHAT IS LIFE ON MAIN?
A Biblically Relevant Church

LIFE ON MAIN is a church that seeks to be relevant to our culture, while at the same time remaining true to the Word of God. We look for ways to touch our world in real and practical ways while keeping to the integrity of the Scriptures. We believe that the Bible should define how we live our lives, not the other way around.

Traditional, but not Typical

Our worship style is traditional, comprised mostly of timeless hymns. When we come together, we worship God through music, rather than just singing songs. Our desire is that when people worship God with us that they experience the presence of God in their lives.

Interdenominational in Scope

Our aim is to unite with other God-fearing, Jesus-believing, Bible-adhering churches in our area for the purpose of advancing the kingdom of God. We see the value of each of these unique expressions of God's love and seek to build on each other's strengths for greater fruitfulness in our communities.

L.I.F.E. VISION & VALUES

LOVE = Love is at the core of all we do. We love God because He first loved us. We love fellow believers because God's love is the adhesive that binds us together. And we love the lost because God's love for them is in our hearts.

INSTRUCTION = Teaching the truths of God's Word is vital for any church that would grow up in the "unity of the faith," avoid error, and bring the body to the place of maturity the Lord has for them.

FELLOWSHIP = The Cross of Christ is both vertical and horizontal in nature. Our fellowship must first be heavenward in relationship with Christ, and secondly, peopleward in relationship with one another in the body.

EVANGELISM = "It's all about a soul." Jesus came to save sinners, and our charge is to do the same.

OUR AFFILIATION

LIFE ON MAIN was founded in 2016 and belongs to a denomination known as the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. The Foursquare Church was founded by Aimee Semple McPherson in the early 1900's. Today there are over 60,000 churches meeting in 140 countries! We are proud to be a part of this family and a part of something bigger than ourselves. Though part of a denomination, LIFE ON MAIN seeks to partner with other Bible-believing Trinitarian churches in the area to advance the gospel in our region and beyond!

Our Pastoral Team and Staff

Tim and Tamara have ministered actively in numerous Christian denominations over the years. They are ordained pastors who have served in pastoral ministry within the Foursquare Church for over 25 years in various capacities, including worship pastors, church planters, interim pastors, and senior pastors. Most recently, they served Life Fellowship Foursquare in Charlestown as assistant pastors for 8 years prior to being sent out by Life Fellowship to pastor Life On Main.

In addition to serving as lead pastors, they serve various roles within community organizations, such as the Heritage Commission, Old Home days committee, Area Church Network, as well as serving a community television station in the areas of the board and production.

Sharon Boyden - Assisting Minister

Sharon came to know the Lord in 1998 at Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She served in various ministries during her years there, including foreign missions.  In 2009, she moved to NH and began attending our sister church, Life Fellowship. While there, she led numerous missions teams on trips to the Relief Bus in New York City. This led her to start His Helping Hands in Claremont, NH - a food outreach that ministered to the less fortunate, where she served as director for over 5 years.

Sharon received her District Ministerial License in May 2012 and was ordained in September 2018. In 2020, she became a Foursquare chaplain and served this role at Sullivan County Nursing Center.

Lance Nelson - Assisting Minister

Lance is a ordained minister within the Foursquare Church and assists the missional pastors with the pastoral care and functions of the congregation at Life On Main. Lance and his wife, Dottie have served in a missional capacity in the past as "camp pastors" at a secular campground in south-central New Hampshire for 6 years.

The Nelsons became involved with the Charlestown Foursquare Church in  1990, where Lance first began serving as an assisting minister, prior to becoming an integral part of Life On Main. Lance and Dottie have a current ministry focus to seniors in the church and the community.

Dottie Nelson - Administrative Assistant

Dottie assists Life On Main with the clerical and organizational aspects of the ministry. She has served alongside her husband, Lance at the Charlestown Foursquare Church for many years. She has served in an administrative capacity for both businesses and ministries. We feel that a  great administrator is essential to church growth, freeing up pastors to function in their calling.

Now retired in one sense of the word, the Nelsons devote their time to ministry. They have gleaned much experience over many years in many churches from coast to coast. Their knowledge and insights are touching many lives through ministry in New England.

Laurie Palmer - Intercessory Ministries

Laurie oversees the various prayer ministries at Life on Main. Laurie and her husband, Jim, have served in Foursquare churches about 30 years. Laurie has ministered to children, both teaching and leading, for most of this time. Laurie shares our belief that prayer is a catalyst for the move of the Holy Spirit and crucial to the effectiveness and fruitfulness of the church.

In addition, she serves as Director of Greater Things Ministries, a non-profit organization supporting missionaries in the Philippines. At home, she helps her husband maintain their six-acre oasis, which houses raspberries, blueberries, fruit trees, a large garden, and several flower gardens.

Sonja made a conscious choice to follow Jesus at age 10. She has sung in church choirs, ministry groups and senior convalescent homes. In 2012, Sonja and her husband John started attending our sister church, Life Fellowship, where they kept busy with hospitality, custodial and maintenance duties. In 2017, Sonja followed the Lord's leading on her heart and joined the choir at Life On Main. In August 2021 she accepted the position of Minister of Music at Life On Main. In 2022, Sonja and John completed ministry training through the International School of Ministry.
